Fall 2026 Greetings

As summer winds down, I’m looking back at the year and all that has happened. After a small break from programs on the farm, I’m ready to start them back up again. I realize how important it is to share knowledge. Here at Wild Woods Farm you get a chance to see the plants growing in their natural environment as well as cultivars and learn how they can be used for food and medicine.

Ecstatic Dancing at Wild Woods Farm

A special evening of ecstatic dance on the farm – nature, music, and the night sky. Dress in layers. Rattles, shakers, and a drum will be available.

Native Nursery/Private Tours

Interested in visiting the farm and bringing your own group of three or more? Contact Vickie Shufer at wildfood@cox.net to schedule a foraging trip or a tour of the gardens and native nursery. Prices vary depending on size of group and length of time.

Winter Nursery Highlights

Looking to add some green to your native garden? Visit the farm and check out our inventory of winter perennials. Wild ginger, partridgeberry, ferns, and more are available. Now is a great time to add them to your landscape. Contact wildfood@cox.net for a plant list.

For All Ages

There are a number of opportunities to explore backyards, swamps, marshes, and forests and become familiar with the plants and animals that live there. Programs promote getting outdoors and connecting with nature while developing skills for being outdoors.

Foraging – identify, gather and prepare wild plants to use for food and medicine.

Green Farmacy – Learn to make lotions, potions, oils, and salves for health and wellness.
